. . . JUST AS HE OFFERS IT TO US! Being near water, doesn't count . . . going to church, doesn't count . . . carrying our Bibles around with us, doesn't count . . . listening to Christian music - while it is nice, it doesn't count . . . DRINKING THE WATER COUNTS!!! "Those who drink" (John 4:14 NLT) are the ones who admit they are thirsty and know only God has the water they need. The people who open their mouths and partake. They don't just read the Word, they do what it says. The person whose thirst is quenched is not the one who merely studies the pitcher of water. Rather it's "whosoever drinketh" (KJV)
Is it any wonder that the "Women at the Well" left her jar behind when "she went back to the town" (John 4:28)??? HER thirst was quenched - HER future was secured - all she could think about was sharing this living water with others. ISN'T THAT what we are called to do - Tell others about the living water we have been offered??? Isaiah 55:1 says "Come, all you who are thirsty."
- Now . . . please read John 4:1-43 - even if you've read it before, please read it again. - Please read all of Chapter 4 - Dying for a Drink.
- Please consider what lessons can be learned from the Woman at the Well
* * Never be afraid to ask questions
