I. Concentration: on how powerful our God is.
- Jesus turned and saw her. . . . (v.22a)
- “. . . “Take heart, daughter,” he said, . . . (v.22b)
- “. . . your faith has healed you.” (v.22c)
- And the woman was healed at that moment. (v.22d)
II. Meditation: on how faith enables healing.
- Jesus was walking through a crowd when He felt someone touch Him; He already knew it was the woman, but turned around and pointed her out so the crowd could see her; what they would witness would be for the Glory of God.
- Jesus tells the woman not to worry, she has not done anything wrong by touching Him; even though she is “unclean” because of her medical condition He calls her by a familial name, “daughter” … she who has been shunned by others for a very, very long time.
- Jesus felt the woman’s faith through her very touch and tells her she is healed because of it; the crowd witnesses God’s healing powers.
- Her medical condition was healed immediately – she was no longer unclean and unlovable – she was “at that moment” healed by our Loving God.
III. Revelation: on turning control over to God.
- As Christians, even when we think we are alone in our pain and suffering, Jesus has never left our side; He is always connected to us and sees us.
- We must not spend time worrying about things we are powerless to control; He is our Father.
- We are so blessed by our Holy Father who knows our faith and heals us spiritually, as well as physically – make it our daily priority to spend time with Him.
- We need to realize that even as “unclean” (sinful) as we can be, Our God has the power to heal us … immediately; we must believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior, repent of our sins, ask for forgiveness and then accept that we have been forgiven.
IV. Application: As a Christian, I need to:
- Keep my focus on God – it is Him in my life that I need and it is His view of me that really matters most.
- Recognize that when I worry I am doubting God’s ability to heal me; He is my loving Father and He alone has the power to heal me.
- Proudly and publicly display my faith; accept God’s will and that He will heal me as He sees fit, in His time; praise God for His almighty power.
- Realize that God can choose to heal me immediately or in His time; acknowledge that part of healing includes forgiveness - asking for forgiveness, giving forgiveness and accepting forgiveness.
