While we don't consider ourselves "bad girls" per se, we know that we fall short of your desires. Please lead us and guide us to improve our characters to be pleasing to you. Please help us to take what we learn, apply it to our lives and for the benefit of others.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen
During your quiet time / prayer time, please pray for these people:
Prayer request from Judi (email on 6/17) . . . Many of you know that I am involved in a few jail and prison ministries. THIS Saturday, June 21, I will be leaving at 6 a.m. with a few team members from REC (Residents Encounter Christ) to head down to Oveido to kick off our all day training meeting. It’s a 3 hour round trip drive, plus a good 9 hour day. We are dealing with the results of Satan’s attacks – God is Good – even though we are feeling the thrust of his attacks He has been resolving these as they occur. I’d like to ask you to build a hedge of prayer around all of us (team, officers at the jail and residents alike) for these next few weeks until we complete this 3 day “walk” in the jail (July 18, 19 and 20). We are going to be blessed with the opportunity of touching the lives of up to about 65 residents (men and women).
Glenn Mantooth is a gentleman who attended the Holy Land tour with us. He took a very bad fall and received head, knee and cervical injuries. He has remained in Jerusalem in the hospital. We just learned that he is improving and should be coming home within a week or so. Please keep him in prayer for healing and comfort. The plane trip home will be difficult for him - please pray for endurance and comfort for the flight. Update received 6/12 from Reverend Harold's wife Donna . . . Katy Brown sent an update on her dad. Glenn has developed a pulmonary embolism. He was to have surgery this morning to remove the embolism. I have not heard how the surgery went. As soon as I hear I will update everyone. Please keep praying. Update received 6/14 from EO (Educational Opportunities) Reps from USA staying in Jerusalem . . . It was recently reported that Glen had developed a pulmonary embolism and would be operated on yesterday. Katie said the surgery had been successfully completed and the hope was that he could be released to come home in 7 - 10 days. Another problem is that he had some back damage due to his fall and as a result he cannot make his hands function properly, if at all. Therefore, he will not be able to return, at least for now, to his home at Sumter Place. She expects when he gets to Orlando that he will have to go to some assisted living facility where they can see that he gets fed and cared for until his hands (arms) can be restored to normal ability.Update received 6/18 from Reverend Harold's wife Donna . . . I just received an email from Katy. Glenn has developed a fever so coming home is on hold again. Pease continue to pray for healing so that Glenn can get home.
Darla's husband, Joe, suffered a heart attack Sunday night and was scheduled for a procedure last night (Monday). Please pray for the doctors and medical staff to be able to treat him and make him comfortable; pray for Joe's healing and comfort; pray for Darla's strength, endurance and care - for Joe and for herself.. . . update received from Mary Ann today (6/10/14) . . . Thank your for including Joe and Darla in your prayer chain. We will need more prayers for Joe Cucchi as the doctors said he did have a heart attack on Sunday evening. They did a procedure last night and found two significant blockages, thus Joe will be having bypass surgery at Leesburg Hospital either later today or tomorrow. Update from Mary Ann at church on Sunday 6/15 . . . Darla’s husband had heart bypass surgery and is recovering – prayers still needed to healing and comfort
