This got me to thinking . . . so I wrote and asked her, "please help me understand. You say that there are few Christians in Ecuador. When these people receive a Bible – do they understand what it is? Do you think they read it and begin to learn about the Lord and then perhaps follow Him? I know you probably don’t know these answers and that God does, knows all and sees all but I’m really curious on what YOU think happens with them / to them. "
She quickly replied, "To answer your question about the Bibles. . . I remember when I was very young and our Pastor told us what was happening – I think in Russia, with the persecution of the Christians. If they were found with the BIBLE, they were put in prison and they were not allowed to meet as a body of Christians. One day it was very windy, and someone noticed something flying past, and ran to retrieve it. It was a page of the BIBLE. They read it and came to know the LORD. BIBLEs were so scarce, and some Christians to get the WORD spread to others tore pages out of their BIBLES, hoping that someone would find the page and get to know the LORD.
The AUTHOR of the books that you and the ladies sent is in every letter of the BIBLE. The scripture in Isaiah 55:9-11 is your guarantee that those BIBLES will never be wasted. We are all links in a chain, each having to do something as the BIBLES are passed along. Paul explains that some have to plant, some have to water and some will gather the fruit. You can be sure that Heaven is going to be very interesting when we find out what transpired along the longgggg line of what we did in obedience to Him."
Praise God for our Bibles making their way to homes in Ecuador, bringing His people to Him.
Isaiah 55:9-119 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
