Monday night I read an excerpt from Ann's book:
"Being in a hurry. Getting to the next thing without fully entering the thing in front of me. I cannot think of a single advantage I've ever gained from being in a hurry. But a thousand broken and missed things, tens of thousands, lie in the wake of all the rushing. . . Through all that haste I thought I was making up time. It turns out I was throwing it away.
In our rushing, bulls in china shops, we break our own lives.
Haste makes waste." And she further says: "I speak to God: I really don't want more time; I just want enough time" . . . "to live in the moment". Isn't this what we all want??? IF we take time to think about it???
THIS WEEK:
- Have you caught up on writing your gifts (we were up to 35 by last Monday night), I hope that you received some ideas and encouragement from the handout Lois provided from Ann's website
- If you didn't get a chance to review your blanks from last week - please do that. It's a short study and you will want to make the most of it.
Session 3 "All Is Grace"
- We briefly discussed the Intro on page 41 about "Johnny/Joni" (Joni Eareckson Tada) whose very active life changed in an instant as she dove into the Chesapeake Bay. Learning to paint with a brush in her teeth she began creating works of art, writing books, recording music, married and starred in a movie. "She would be used of Christ" to draw others to Him. Please read if you haven't.
- We talked about some of the items in the "Video Discussion and Bible Study" on pages 42 to 47. Please make sure you read the Scriptures (# 2, 3, 5, 7) and answer Ann's questions.
"Between Sessions":
- Add 10 more gifts to your list - you should be at least up to gift 45 now.
- Spent time on your "Treasure Hunt"
- Adjust to how we see things through "Practicing God's Presence"
- Many of you have been sharing your gifts and some of you have been observing - for those of you who have been quiet, I pray we have built your trust and confidence with our group to share some of your gifts - let us get to know you better through your gifts.
Please remember to review the Prayer Requests
Please consider bringing in non-perishable food items for our weekly donation to the CUMC food pantry.
Please remember that Monday night we will be collecting $$$ for our donations to the Ruth House - then Judy W. and I will go shopping at Sam's to buy whatever we can in bulk.
May God continue to bless you as you bless others.
