Lois outdid herself by setting up tables with stickers, colored papers, crosses, word sayings, special prayers and pictures, scissors, glue sticks, colored pens / pencils, you name it . . . it was there. (Yes, yes, yes - as I started thinking about blogging this I said to myself "why didn't you take pictures????" but trust me it was a sight to behold!!!
We came with our own basic supplies (7" x 9" three-ring binder, index separator tabs, paper, etc.) and just had fun with all the goodies - adorning our special book. We each left with ideas in mind on how we were going to organize (or re-organize) our prayer time.
Back in June 2011 (WOW! That was a long time ago!) we did a study entitled "Sacred Echo" and it has stayed with me ever since. Margaret Feinberg (the author) told us, "'Don't Listen For the Voice of God. Listen for His Echo.' When God really wants to get your attention, he doesn't just say something once. He echoes. He speaks through a Sunday sermon, a chance conversation with a friend the next day, even a random email. The same theme, idea, impression, or lesson will repeat itself in surprising and unexpected ways until you realize that maybe, just maybe, God is at work."
So, I'm here to tell you I received my "Sacred Echo" in the mail the very next day. I subscribe to "Our Daily Bread" and I receive emails each month with new offerings (usually DVDs and Books). Well Tuesday I received this wonderful little booklet (32 pages) entitled "Let's Pray." There are five little chapters with the following categories: 1) Prayers to Praise and Honor God, 2) Prayers to Confess Sin and Humble Ourselves (BOY do I need this one!), 3) Prayers About Everyday Needs, 4) Prayers for Guidance and Direction and 5) Prayers to Say Thank You.
I have tucked this booklet into my Prayer Book but wanted you to know about it also. If you press the green button below - it will take you to the website. You CAN download the PDF file and print it directly on your printer (for FREE) or you can order a copy (they are free - you donate at your will).
Thank you Lord for grabbing my attention through your Sacred Echo!!!
