How might your life be different if you followed David’s example, rather than Michal’s, and became “a man [or woman] after God’s own heart?” See the button below for a great synopsis of who Michal was and how she LOVED, MARRIED, DELIVERED, FORSOOK, WAS RESTORED TO, DESPISED AND LOST . . . DAVID Lessons to be learned from Michal

I was pretty sure that I wasn't going to find a lot of similarities with Michal. Ha! I do have some unbecoming Michal attitudes about me and I've seen these rear their ugly heads with people close to me, including my husband. I've been a haughty woman more than I like to admit - full of judgment, criticism and disdain – everything from clothing attire to free spirit to choices people make. Then there’s the issue of not being noticed - I don't like being ignored for 14 minutes, let along 14 years. Bitterness and love cannot reside in the same heart – I certainly know that, but it doesn’t stop the bitterness junk from showing itself. I have to fight this fight often and it's a battle worth fighting. Michal & David did not have a common denominator – love of the Lord God Almighty. The lesson that Liz mentions that stirs my heart most was “Nothing stops worship like unconfessed sin.” I’ve seen my heart harden over the years because of my disobedience and unwillingness to confess my actions and forgiveness and cleansing. I did not want to acknowledge the Lord – let’s not be real with Him. I’m going to make my mantra this week “to continually confess, repent and sing with a lighter heart!” Thank you, Jesus, for taking the burden away.

Lois - you are so honest about yourself. You are an example to follow. I resonated with much of what you said as I find those same faults in myself and the same sins. While I like to feel like I am making progress I have SUCH A LONG ROAD AHEAD OF ME. Thank you for always being so faithful as to comment on the blog. You are a breath of fresh air and I am so grateful for the day you walked up to the table at the Ministry Expo!!!

Hi Roxy - I am just seeing your comments on 8/21 - thank you for them. You are so right!!! While I have read about many of these women while reading Scriptures, I have never STUDIED them - never thought about "what made them tick" or what their lives were truly like. I might have had a fleeting thought, but it was buried in the larger story. I am so thankful we have chosen to study these women and . . . to find a little of ourselves in them. I think we can all agree that we have found something in them to work on within ourselves. I love how God works on us in subtle ways. Blessings and love . . . Judi

Hi Roxy, Thanks for your encouragement. I am so blown away by how much I see myself in these women! I can't imagine what I'd be like if I didn't know the Lord at all. Now, that's a scary picture! Praise God we can grow in Him. We'll never be really good girls, but we are made perfect in HIM!
